Pennsylvania, specifically, Philadelphia, was next on the agenda. In Independence Mall, I was able to see Constitution Hall, the Liberty Bell, and copies of the Declaration of Independence, Articles of Confederation and the Constitution.

Ben Franklin is buried a block or so from Independence Mall. Beside the grave is this inscription written by Franklin as a young man (which, they say, was never intended to be used on his grave). "The body of B. Franklin, Printer. Like the cover of an old book, Its contents torn out, And stript of its lettering & gilding, Lies here, Food for worms. But the work shall not be lost, For it will as he believ'd appear once more in a new and more elegant edition, Corrected and improved By the author."
