Day 1 ~ Day 2 ~ Day 3
May 28, 2008
Last day here. I did a few things around town and took a 2 1/2 hour tour to the coral reef about 6 miles south of Key West. (Sorry, no pictures from there because I was on a glass bottom boat and the photos just are not that good through plexiglass.)

However, here is a Key West riddle! Why did the rooster cross the road?

Rooster crossing the road
Answer: I really don't know. Why do they let roosters and chicken run loose in the town? Some kind of tradition, I guess.

But seriously, folks, after dodging roosters, I made it to the Key West Aquarium.

Like I said above, no photos from the reef. But, going out there we entered (start scary music)THE BERMUDA TRIANGLE(end scary music). Bouy 13 is one corner of the Bermuda Triangle. (See below.) That sailboat seems to have made it out okay. Also, we crossed from the Gulf of Mexico into the Atlantic Ocean at the tip of Key West.

Coming back from the reef, it was a bit stormy over Key West, though very nice out at the reef.

After getting back from the reef trip, I went to the top of the La Concha hotel to see the view from the observation deck.

My last two stops were at the Key West Lighthouse Museum and at the Key West Cemetery. At the cemetery, I wanted to find the headstone that reads "I told you I was sick" but I did not have enough time.
